Pausing and resuming data usage is a useful way of managing data usage for SIMs across your fleet. Managing data usage is useful if you have devices that you want to temporarily prevent from using data. You can also pause or resume data usage in bulk using the REST API. Note that paused SIMs will still be charged the monthly per SIM recurring charge to maintain access to Hologram’s network and systems.
SIMs that have been paused by our system will show a Paused by system status and will need additional actions to unpause.
Taking bulk actions on your fleet in the SIMs page
- First, navigate to the SIMs page in your dashboard, and select the SIMs you want to pause or resume.
Bulk pause data usage
- In the Manage SIMs dropdown menu, select Pause data usage…
- A modal will appear to confirm the SIMs you have chosen to pause. You can download a
.CSV
of all the SIMs you’ve selected. Any SIMs that can no longer be paused due to state changes or other issues will be listed separately.
- Press the Pause SIMs button to issue a pause command to our carrier partners.
- After you create the pause request, the action will appear in the pending activity list. Pending bulk actions started via the API will also display in this list.
- After the command is completed, the status of your SIMs will update.
Note: You should see the status of your devices update within 10 minutes. In rare cases it may take up to 24 hours.
