The Hologram Dashboard offers a suite of different tools to monitor your devices and track your fleet's usage. In this guide we review the different reports Hologram provides to help you stay on top of your IoT deployment and optimize your operation.
The Usage section of your dashboard contains the main reports that will help you view and manage data usage across your fleet. These reports each outline data usage for a specified date range, including productive and zero-byte session counts, SMS usage, and SIM configuration.
All data usage in your dashboard summarizes data sessions at the time the session closed, to the second. We do not receive millisecond-level data usage information from our carrier partners. All data usage information provided by Hologram is displayed in UTC.
Download records using the the three-dot menu that appears when hovering over the any card within the report. Read more about downloading report data.
Data usage by day report
Summarize data usage across every SIM in your fleet using the Usage by Day report in the Overview tab. This report provides an overall count of SIMs, average data usage, and summarized data usage by day for the date range selected. This report is a useful way to get a sense of overall data usage, and for organizations with a single fleet or device type to view high-level data usage behavior.
Data usage by SIM report
View data usage across all SIMs in your fleet using the Usage by SIM report in the By SIM tab. This report gives summarized data usage information for the selected date range. This report is a useful way to find when your SIMs were last active, view current SIM configuration, and find potential device configuration problems causing zero-byte sessions.
Note: If your account uses prepaid billing, this report displays total data usage for the specified range, not the SIM’s individual 30 day billing period.
Data usage by SIM and day report
View data usage by day, broken down by each SIM that used data using the Usage by SIM and Day report. When paired with filters, this report is a useful way to report on data usage behavior over time for specific SIMs.
Data usage by session report
View detailed reporting on all closed data sessions across your entire fleet using the Usage by Session report. If you need detailed logs of every data session in our records, use this report. This report is a useful way to audit granular SIM behavior, report on location information, and troubleshoot detailed SIM data usage behavior.
Viewing recent data usage in the SIMs page
The SIMs section of your dashboard has even more ways to check and report on data usage for your SIMs.
The Active SIMs page is sorted by Last active time by default, and displays data usage for each SIM’s current billing period.
- If your account prepays for data usage (prepaid), the table displays the data usage for each SIM’s individual 30-day billing period
- If your account receives monthly invoices (postpaid), the table displays month-to-date data usage for each SIM
The Pre-deployment SIMs page is sorted by Last active time by default, and displays lifetime data usage for the SIM. All SIMs in pre-deployment testing will automatically activate after using 100 KB of data usage, using 10 outbound SMS messages, or their testing duration ends, whichever comes first.
