Send data inbound to devices with TCP, UDP, and SMS using Hologram Cloud Messaging

Hologram makes it easy to send messages to your devices. You can send messages to your devices through a Hologram SIM using TCP, UDP, or SMS.

How do I send an inbound message to a device?

You can send TCP, UDP, and SMS messages to your device by finding the SIM you want to message using search or the SIMs pages, then clicking in to view the SIM details page.

You can also send messages in bulk from the SIMs page using the Manage SIMs dropdown.

Send TCP and UDP messages

Our Cloud Data feature allows you to send a TCP or UDP message to a specified port on your device. This is helpful when you want to send messages to your device using only data.

SMS

SMS is commonly used by IoT devices to send command, configure, and control messages such as setting the APN because it does not require setup.

You can view messages sent to your devices in the Activity drawer found at the bottom of your dashboard. Opening the drawer when viewing a SIM will filter it to only messages sent to/from that SIM.
